Sustainability and Biodegradability are the vital standards at the core of our "thin green" line.
Our warps are made of viscose (beech), which is locally harvested. By integrating natural resources, grown in our own backyard, we can eliminate the potential of emissions released through transport (for instance, imagine the additional emissions released if the materials were to come from Asia). Besides being locally available, Beech is an exemplary green material because it is a renewable yarn source with the capability to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Out green items also contain a fill of recycled cotton chenille. As the word recycled indicates, the cotton chenille is partially made of left over. If left unused, these fibres would inevitably be discarded, burned, or eradicated by methods that would surely cause increased emissions.
Place one of our green fabrics in a landfill and wait about 12 weeks. Upon return you will not find the slightest trace of the viscose and the recycled cotton chenille. Aside from some vestigial Polyacrylic included in the chenille, the fabric will have entirely decomposed.
