This visual effect not only opens up new design possibilities, but also creates a compelling acoustic effect through the tailored use of sound-relevant weaving technology. The result is a fabric that combines aesthetic fascination with functional excellence.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”17078″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”17114″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” css=”” link=”https://youtu.be/AaihyD3PVx8″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”content-text-center”]

The inspiration for FR VISION derives from the historical art technique “Tabula Scalata“, which was popular in the 16th century. This technique allows two images to be arranged on a folded surface in such a way that a changing pattern is visible depending on the viewing angle. Martina Hümmer, a graduate designer at GEBRÜDER MUNZERT, was inspired by this optical illusion and developed the idea of transferring the effect to jacquard textiles.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”17077″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”content-text-center”]

Thanks to her expertise in combining shrink yarns with conceptual weaving techniques, she invented FR VISION, a fabric that forms a three-dimensional structure when exposed to heat. The resulting structure allows the fabric to present two different images depending on the observer‘s point of view. This effect gives the fabric a particular design strength and makes it a visual and haptic experience for the sensual architecture of the future.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”17079″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”content-text-center”]

For GEBRÜRDER MUNZERT, the realization of this idea accentuates the ambition to regard technical boundaries merely as an incentive for unprecedented textiles.
